The High Kicks are DJ duo Becky Stefani and Nikki Vaughan – aka
the singer and bass player from electro pop gang We Start Fires. Not
content with simply rocking out on stage, the band set up Club
Strut in their hometown of Darlington for a glittering night of spiky
punk, electro, new wave and pop & indie rock & roll! High
Kicks’s fascinating duo and their mates, Melissa and Ashley,
have garnered a cult following after being named NME’s DJ of
the week, and playing at prolific shows like the UK’s NME Awards,
the Queens of Noize night at London’s 333 and further afield
at the British Underground in Tokyo, Japan.
Best described to own the now sound of new wave, combining “the
best punk of Blondie and the pop sensibilities of Siouxie and the Banshees” (Art
Rocker), expect sassy rocking dynamics as the impish Becky and Nikki
